Please read these Terms & Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using the Reduz browser extension and the reduz.app website (together, the "Service"), operated by Three Things Media ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Interpretation and Definitions
Definitions
- Extension — the Reduz Chrome browser extension.
- Website — the Reduz marketing site at reduz.app.
- Service — the Extension and Website collectively.
- You — the individual using the Service.
- AI Provider — a third-party API service (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or DeepSeek).
- API Key — a credential you obtain from an AI Provider to authenticate requests.
Use of the Service
Reduz is a browser extension and website that summarizes web pages, YouTube videos, PDF documents, and selected text using AI providers. The Extension supports Local / Own Key mode, where you supply your own API keys from supported AI providers, and hosted modes, where Reduz processes summaries through its hosted relay.
Your API Keys and Provider Terms
In Local / Own Key mode, you are solely responsible for obtaining, securing, and paying for your own API keys. By using the Service with a third-party AI provider, you agree to comply with that provider's terms of service:
We are not responsible for any costs, charges, or consequences arising from your use of third-party API services. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any AI provider.
Content Limitations
The Extension enforces the following limits:
- Page text: up to 60,000 characters per summary.
- Selected text: up to 60,000 characters per summary.
- PDF files: up to 25 MB.
Paid Plans
Reduz may offer paid hosted plans for higher limits, hosted processing, account-based credits, and related features. The following terms apply to paid plans:
- Paid plans will be billed monthly or annually through a third-party payment processor.
- Reduz Pro includes 1,000 hosted credits per month.
- Reduz Premium includes 5,000 hosted credits per month.
- You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.
Fair Use
Automated, scripted, or programmatic access to the Service may result in rate limiting or suspension. The Service is intended for personal, individual use. Premium credits are designed for heavy normal use, not resale, shared-account use, credential sharing, scraping, automation, or bypassing official user interfaces.
Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is the property of Three Things Media. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the Extension or Website without prior written permission.
Summaries generated by the Extension are produced by third-party AI providers. Ownership and usage rights for generated content are governed by the respective AI provider's terms of service.
Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others.
- Circumvent content paywalls or access restricted content.
- Distribute malware or interfere with the Extension's operation.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service or its output.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Three Things Media be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
- Your use of or inability to use the Service.
- Any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in AI-generated summaries.
- Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data.
- Costs or charges incurred with third-party AI providers.
- Any third-party conduct or content.
"AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" Disclaimer
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Three Things Media from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or us. You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the Extension.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany (Bayern). Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ingolstadt, Germany.
Dispute Resolution
If you have a concern or dispute, please contact us first at support@reduz.app. We will try to resolve the matter informally before any formal proceedings.
The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obligated to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board, but may choose to do so.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice by updating the "Last updated" date on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
